Writing Circle (WC) and
Weekly Reflection & Planning (WRP)
Summer 2026
A Summer Rhythm for Your Writing and Reflection
Build momentum, move through a spacious middle, and return with clarity — without pressure or falling behind.
How the Program Works
This summer experience combines two simple yet powerful practices: Writing Circle (WC) and Weekly Reflection & Planning (WRP) in Summer I and Summer II. Together, they offer a steady rhythm of focused work and thoughtful reflection.
You’re welcome to join either program on its own, or experience them together for deeper support throughout the summer.
Writing Circle (WC)
Writing Circle offers a calm, structured space to focus on your writing alongside other scholars and professionals.
Each session includes three 25-minute writing blocks with short breaks in between. We begin with a brief check-in, settle into focused writing, and close the session together.
There’s no pressure to share your writing. Everyone works on their own project while benefiting from the quiet presence and accountability of the group.
Structure
- Two live co-working sessions per week: — Monday & Wednesday | 10am - 11:40am (ET)
- Three 25-minute writing blocks per session
- Guided stretching & short breaks in between
- Brief opening check-in and powerful closing reflection
- Writing Meditation together as opening ritual
Weekly Reflection & Planning (WRP)
Weekly Reflection & Planning offers a gentle structure to pause, reflect on the past week, and set intentions for the week ahead.
During this guided session, you’ll step back to consider what has been working, what needs attention, and how you want to move forward in a sustainable way.
Participants often find this practice brings greater clarity, focus, and ease to their work.
Structure
- One live session each week — Friday | 10am-11am (ET)
- Guided reflection and planning prompts
- Quiet time to think and write through your priorities
- Powerful closing reflection
You’re welcome to join either Summer I or Summer II, or both as a full summer experience.
The Spacious Middle (June 8 - July 31)
Between the two phases of the program, we move into The Spacious Middle — an eight-week period designed for integration.
This is a time to live your summer fully while staying gently connected to your writing and intentions.
You’ll remain part of our shared online space and receive occasional prompts offered as invitations for reflection.
There’s nothing to keep up with — and nothing to catch up on.

Hi, I'm Kimine Mayuzumi, Ph.D.

I am the co-founder of Being Lazy and Slowing Down (BLSD) — a space we have been nurturing since 2015 to support academics and professionals who feel overwhelmed by the pace and pressures of their work and life.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of higher-ed professionals through support circles, workshops, webinars, Writing Circle, and Weekly Reflection & Planning sessions.
My work focuses on creating calm, structured spaces where people can reconnect with clarity, purpose, and a sustainable rhythm — so they can move forward with greater ease and intention.
